The P3 Mobile Apps unlock life-changing opportunities for aspiring students across the United States.

After hiring another development firm that failed to live up to expectations, 3Advance was drafted in to save the day, and produce mobile apps in record time.

We first met Ingrid and the doctors from Pulse of Perseverance (P3) in early 2023, as they searched for an app development team to design mobile apps to extend the impact of P3's mission. Dr. Max Madhere, Dr. Pierre Johnson and Dr. Joe Semien had already provided scholarships to dozens of students, and that influenced the lives of many more through their book of the same name, "Pulse of Perseverance". Now it was time to scale that impact.

Finding reliable, honest and capable app developers is not as easy as it sounds however, and unfortunately the team's first attempt to engage a development firm was a major disappointment. While 3Advance were not selected initially, we continued to offer support from a distance, until it was proven that the chosen development firm were simply not capable, or not committed to fulfilling the promise made. Coming back to 3Advance in January 2024, we were intent on helping this non-profit recover from this damaging start. We believed in the good work being done, so rallied within and offered welcoming terms and an aggressive timeline for getting P3 back on track.

3Advance got to work in February 2024, and with our solid boilerplate stack, and refined mobile development process, both apps were live and functioning with an official launch less than three months later. Paul and Darren were proud to attend (and contribute) to a major fundraising event which also served as App Launch Party in Chicago on May 16th, 2024.

P3's "Clutches and Kicks" Fundraiser & App Launch Party

The first version of the app included mentor and mentee registration, with connection building and video-sharing of mentorship advice. An administration panel allowed P3 to manage registrations, approve mentorships, and in the coming months, post MVP, add all important features like job/opportunity boards, and AI-powered content generation to spur activity within the apps.

Since launching in Spring 2024, the relationship between P3 and 3A has continued to grow. The P3 team has provided even more scholarships, opportunities and direct mentorships to students the length and breadth of the country. The mobile app has been a cornerstone of this growth, and while welcoming new P3 team members in 2025, we have also redesigned and relaunched the P3 website at pulseofp3.org.

3Advance is proud to continue to serve P3 and for the mobile apps to be the cornerstone of P3's reach and impact.

"It’s in your head for so long as a concept, and then you actually begin to see it, begin to get a framework, and it becomes real. It’s really cool! People are loving it." ✨

"They are incredibly responsive, and more than anything, very attentive. They listen to what we’re saying as opposed to telling us what they think we want to hear. Genuinely, there’s nothing I would change about 3Advance." ✨
